Rachel Ching is a native of Gold Hill Nevada and a graduate of Western Nevada College. For the past 18 years she has embraced the entrepreneurial spirit as the owner of Gold Hill Bookkeeping Services and the Nurturing Nest. For 12 of those years she was a volunteer firefighter and EMT, serving in various positions from Treasurer to Fire Chief, and spent 2 years as chair of the town council in Silver City.
After the births of her 3 children, her desire to educate and support women during pregnancy and childbirth led her to become a birth and postpartum doula serving in the Reno area. She also became certified as a Childbirth and Lactation Educator, and a Child Passenger Safety Technician. As a co-leader of the Truckee Meadows Birth Network, she has developed a passion for helping moms and babies thrive - especially in the '4th trimester' and for helping families develop holistic wellness and peaceful parenting skills in the years beyond.
As the owner of the Nurturing Nest, she is blessed to be part of many families journey's into parenthood. She supports informed choices and provides information so you can be empowered to birth and parent your way. She is incredibly honored to hold space and offer support to women as they bring a new life into the world and transition into their role as mothers.
